Megan Syring and Daniel Gibbons Engagement

Megan and Daniel were so fun to work with! They are both in retail, so they only had one day off together in December. So, even though it was rather chilly, we met in Old Town on December 4th. OK, I'm being nice to say "chilly". It was actually downright cold, and little Bella was not too excited about being outside. We did manage to get a few photos with her before we decided to return her to the warmth of the car while we finished. Megan and Daniel, I'm so excited about shooting your wedding later this summer in Salina!!

Kara Wright's Senior Portraits

I got together with Kara and her mom on Sunday afternoon. We started our session down in Old Town, then finished at the studio. Kara had alot of outfits, and we used several of them downtown. When we went to the studio, Kara wanted to feature her love of tennis and books! She brought a large suitcase full of books - all of which she has read several times! I'm quite impressed. I can't even remember the last time I sat down and read a book. Good for you, Kara!!

Abby Katt's Senior Portraits

I had a blast with Abby Katt! She is hilarious and full of life! Abby, so sorry its taking so long to get your photos online! They'll be done in a few days! I can't wait to edit them so here's a sneak peek!

Rieger Family Portraits

I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family recently with the beautiful fall colors. Melanie and Todd had their children impectably dressed, and they were delightful children. After Jasmine warmed up to me, she decided she really liked posing for the camera! Donovan wasn't quite as interested, but Jasmine managed to keep him close for a few shots of them together. Toward the end of our session, we decided to go photograph the 4 taking a family walk together.

Kellie Knowles and Joel Foltz Wedding

Kellie and Joel are one of my favorite couples! Kellie is so talented and creative. She did all of the planning and details like a professional planner! I told her that should be her next profession! Absolutely gorgeous is the only way to describe the entire event from the ceremony to the reception. Joel is the sweetest guy, and even after being together for years, they have such respect and admiration for each other!
Kellie's sister, Kerrie sang a beautiful song at the ceremony, and then even joined in with the band for a song at the reception. The slideshow was full of emotions from fun to sentimental, and I have no doubt that everyone left at the end of the party with lots of great memories of a wonderful day celebrating the marriage of two very special people!

Scottie Bisarek's Senior Portraits

Scottie was easy going. He had his trademark "mismatched" socks on, and liked graffiti which we had fun finding. It was cool talking to him about photography, which is a hobby of his. Here's a sneak peek of what we did Scottie!

Jessica Siroky's Senior Portraits

I had so much fun with Jessica, her sister, and mom Tara. I loved all of her Miss Me jeans, and other great clothes. I wanted to photograph her in every outfit because they were all too cute to skip any! Halfway through our session, her dad brought his shiny red corvette for some pictures in front of the Old Town Hotel. Jessica has that "model" look and struck the perfect pose. This is just a sneak peek for now with lots more to come!

Hannah Wheeler's Senior Portraits

Hannah met me with her sister and mom. I think she felt like we were ganging up on her at first trying to get her to relax! Soon she had the hang of it and looked great in every outfit! Plaid is so big this fall, and she had 2 outfits with large plaid. Its amazing how different they can look depending upon the color, and the surroundings. I'm excited to do the rest of her edits within a week or two.

Kiley Riegel's Senior Portraits

Kiley and her mom Kay joined me down in Old Town one recent Saturday when I didn't have a wedding to photograph. Her first outfit was a jacket with big buttons which is a style I have always liked. She also brought her bright blue Mustang which was fun, and then we went to the studio to take a few images in her formal dress and at dad's request, we took a few with a football & helmet to remember her high school years as football manager!

Barnes Family Portraits

I photographed Maria and James' wedding a few years ago and was delighted they called to tell me of their precious new addition!
Little Porter wasn't feeling well the first day we met in the park down in Old Town. The trees were beautiful but he didn't want any part of it. We were all amazed that some of those photos actually were really good. But, a week later we had a session in the studio and again outside. Porter was perfect! Lots of good images from that session as well. Here's a few!

Lisa Stevenson and Matt Ruvolo's Engagement Portraits

I had alot of fun with Lisa and Matt. We went around in Old Town and then the park in front of Spagetti Works. Wow I wish that place was still open. I loved eating there. Anyway, the fall trees were so colorful in the park and Lisa and Matt were playful and relaxed. I knew Matt from a couple of years ago when I photographed his sister's wedding. I think Lisa and Matt are just perfect for each other.

Vanessa Fleming & Bobby Lipp's Engagement Portraits

We first were scheduled to get together on a day that turned out to be miserably windy. Even though disappointed, Vanessa agreed to reschedule for a different day. That turned out to be a great decision because we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful one when we shot these pictures. I first met Vanessa when I photographed her sister's wedding a few years ago. Vanessa is so cute and bubbly. I enjoyed getting to know Bobby too, and they seem like a perfect match. I'm looking forward to your wedding!

Ashtan Depew's Senior Portraits

Ashtan was very laid back and not stressed at all about her outfits. We had the wind to deal with that day, but it turned out that her hair weave looked great when it wasn't perfectly arranged!
She had the funky look, and the cowboy hat too! Good variety Ashtan!
More will be posted later!

Ashlyn Heidebrecht's Senior Portraits

Ashlyn had such a calm expression. Her serious shots were very elegant, but she has a beautiful smile as well.I really get pumped when I am photographing someone that can have all sorts of expressions without looking mad. I loved her clothes, short boots, and the park downtown was the perfect spot for some portraits with her cello! Thanks for choosing me to shoot your senior portraits, Ashlyn! This is just a sneak peek. More to come soon!

Kelsey Tinkham's Senior Portraits

I had a really fun time with Kelsey! She had great clothes, and could pull off several different looks - from innocence to glamour!
We found a great spot with gorgeous fall colors to photograph her with her shiny silver car, and then came to the studio for a few shots with her sports collection. Way to go Kelsey! They look great!

Nancy Claus' Senior Portraits

When Nancy and I met for her senior pictures, it was just about the most windy I've ever seen! We went downtown and her sister went along. Luckily we found some areas with a little wind block, and even though it was cold out, we worked quickly and got it done!

Audrey Simon and Greg Petschauer's Wedding Day

Audrey and Simon and Greg Petschauer were married October 10, 2009 at St. Thomas. We were there to capture all of the moments of the day. Audrey was relaxed and enjoying every moment. She wasn't even the least bit worried about the harsh wind blowing her veil all around! After the ceremony, they left the church in a flurry of bubbles for a short limo ride around the block and back in the church for formal pictures. The limo then took us to Old Town's Naftzger Park for some fun candids, then on to the Petroleum Club for the reception. Congratulations Audrey & Greg!

Angie Larkin and Trevor Wooten's Wedding Day

Angie and Trevor were married October 9, 2009 in a beautiful ceremony at the Bartlett Arboretum in Belle Plaine. I had met Trevor a couple of years ago when I photographed his sister Erin's wedding. The Arboretum was a little wet from all of the rain we had the day before, but actually the weather couldn't have been more perfect on the 9th. A small group of about 75 relatives and close friends attended the ceremony. There were 9, yes I said 9 little flowergirls that were all age 7 and under. They stole the show in their little white tutu's and feather hairpieces. A large reception with about 300 guests was held the next evening, October 10th at The Courtyard by Mariott down in Old Town. All 9 flowergirls were right there dancing on the dance floor with everyone else! Congratulations Angie and Trevor!

Mollye Margheim's Senior Portraits

Mollye's mom and I talked back and forth on the phone several times the day of her session. The forecast was dismal, but it kept seeming like maybe a shoot was possible. We finally decided to wait, but Mollye had her heart set on doing it that day (not to mention both of our busy schedules trying to fit it in another day). Anyway, it turned out to be a good decision. The little breeze was perfect to have her hair blowing in some of the images, and the cloud cover was perfect to not have to deal with shadows!
Glad we went for it, Mollye!

Jessica Kaufman's Senior Portraits

Jessica Kaufman was a blast to work with. I had photographed her sister, Jennifer, and her mom had said they would be different! Well, I found them to both be sweet girls and equally beautiful!
Here's a sneak peek of her session!

Keri Brush's Senior Portraits

Keri is my only senior so far this year from Heights. I met with her and her mom, Sid, last week on Monday. It was so windy the first 3 days of last week so I was certainly happy when we were able to make it work! Keri had very cute clothes, scarves, and of course, her letter jacket. I've edited a few for you to see, Keri! The rest is forthcoming.

Christianna Ortiz' Senior Portraits

Christianna and I were beginning to think we were never going to get our session done! Weather caused postponement more than once. Even last week when she came to town in the morning, it was looking like it would be too cloudy and cold. But, by afternoon the weather decided to cooperate and we had a dynamite shoot. She's soooo pretty and looks like a model!

Ellen Bergkamp's Senior Portraits

I recently went out to Ellen Bergkamp's home for her senior portraits. What a beautiful place! The house had a wrap-around front porch, swing, and more! It was a little muddy from the recent rains but that didn't stop us from getting a few shots with her horse (even though his mane wasn't totally cooperating)! I loved this rustic setting and Ellen is such a beautiful girl.

Sarah, Brent, & Braeden Dugan

I had the privilege of photographing Sarah and Brent's wedding last year, and was so excited when Sarah and Brent brought their sweet little baby Braeden in last week for his first studio pictures. I was amazed, at only a few weeks old, how very alert and strong he was! We had a great time and I look forward to photographing him more as he grows and changes.

Amy Jo Maphet's Senior Portraits

Amy Jo and her mom came to Wichita from Pratt for our photo session. Amy is a friend of Spencer Suderman, another one of my seniors that appeared on my latest ad piece. We managed to find a few fall leaves but were actually about a week too soon for alot of color, but Amy Jo had lots of bright colorful clothes to feature.
In the studio, she had a fun black & white dress with hot pink heels, and her many medals and basketball to finish up the session. It was lots of fun! I hope your evening in Wichita afterward was fun too!

Paige Slayton's Senior Portraits

I had a great time with Paige! She had a great variety of clothes and was a perfect model for both serious and smiling pictures. Thanks so much for choosing Marcia Morrison Photography Paige! It was a blast!

Jake Rakestraw's Senior Portraits

Jake met me down in Old Town with his mom and sister. Dad Travis met us awhile later. Jake was definately into football and his truck. He just beamed when I was photographing him with either of them. He was great to work with. I hope you like this sneak peek Jake!

Braydon Willard's Portraits

Braydon is Emma's cousin and came along for her photo shoot. As I mentioned before, Miss Emma had a tooth coming in and was a bit cranky. We asked Braydon to be in the photo hoping to get Emma to join in, and ended up with some adorable pictures of him, by accident!

Lindsay and JD's Wedding Day

Wow what a great wedding and fun day we had with Lindsay and JD! They were both so relaxed and happy. It was special that JD's daughters Madeline and Sophia were candelighters and readers, but make no mistake...it was flowergirls Emma and Keaton that stole the show! Keaton was quite a little photographer herself! After the ceremony, we had fun in the park and the reception at the Hyatt was beautiful with delicious food, dancing, and a special treat of JD singing to Lindsay.

Noodle's Portrait

This afternoon I had the pleasure of photographing Gail Kelly's little dog "Noodle". She's a very pretty little lady and did everything we asked as long as a treat was forthcoming every 5 seconds!

Emma Willard's fun pictures!

This was our 2nd session for Emma. Turns out she was cutting a tooth and a little cranky last week. Today was MUCH better! She had 2 of her cousin's along to keep her laughing, and the sucker was a sure winner! Isn't she precious?

Brian Hansen's Senior Portraits

Brian and I met earlier this week in Old Town. His mom Terri, joined us with their 2dogs. Tally is a beautiful Australian Shepherd and Eddy is a Border Collie. They are two very smart dogs and didn't let anything get by them! They were quite distracted by all of the action in the park, but Terri saved the day with her bag of treats! I enjoyed working with Brian. And, he's even a photo buff himself.

Amanda Fayette's Senior Portraits

I was excited to photograph Amanda at Botanica. There are so many beautiful fall flowers in bloom right now. Amanda is a natural beauty and looked fabulous no matter what I asked her to do! After Botanica, we went to Naftzger Park, the sunflower fields, and the studio. Amanda is a cheerleader at Maize so we definately wanted to get a shot of her with all of her pom poms and uniforms throughout high school. Wow Amanda, I can't wait to edit all of your session! Here's a sneak peak!

Sydney Madison's Senior Portraits

It was a little breezy the day I got together with Sydney Madison and her mom for senior portraits. She had so many great outfits and I wanted to shoot some in all of them! We started at Old Town, then went a couple more places including the studio. We finished up with her in my favorite color - purple! A really cute one-shoulder top that photographed great with the sunflowers and white backdrop of the studio!

Mariah Knotts' Senior Portraits

Mariah met me in Old Town with her sweet little dog Dolly. I also got to meet both Mom and Dad. We had a great time trying to get Mariah's bangs and Dolly to do the right thing at the same time! We took the easy way out and fixed the bangs with a little hair spray so we could focus on getting Dolly to look at the camera. After all, there are alot of distractions for any dog down in Old Town. Mariah had great clothes, jewelry, and shoes. All of her outfits were very put-together! We barely made it to the sunflower fields to capture a few with the natural sun lighting her face in warm hues before going to the studio to top it off with her cute little print dress with bright red flowers. Thanks for the great time!

Kyle Johnston's Senior Portraits

I met Kyle and his family in Naftzger Park for a family shoot/senior portrait shoot. After a few with the family, Kyle and I continued on with guitar and letter jacket in hand. After spending a while down in Old Town, we went to the studio to photograph him in his baseball uniform and a few casual shots. Hope you like what you see so far Kyle! Thanks for being so easy going!

Anna Wilson's Senior Portraits

I had the pleasure of working with Anna on a beautiful afternoon last week. She and her mom were fun and friendly. Anna had a great variety of outfits and we had fun scouting out some fun places to shoot. Her makeup was so pretty and accentuated those beautiful eyes she has. She even had her toenails painted to match the aqua/turquoise jacket but I'm not sure we really captured the tie-in! Oh well, it was fun trying!

Friday, September 25, 2009

Ellen Bergkamp's Senior Portraits

Ellen and her mom, Kathleen, were so laid back and easy to please! We had fun driving around Old Town alleys and finding perfect spots to photograph Ellen to compliment her great clothes! I decided to take advantage of the sun going down to take some shots in a field with the sun glistening on her hair. What fun! I can't wait for session 2!

Sunday, September 20, 2009

Kayla Bailey's Senior Portraits

Kayla and her mom came all the way from Chanute for her photo session. Kayla is a beautiful sweet girl. That natural beauty made it very easy to do this session! Kayla and Amy, I hope you are pleased!

Ashley Murphy's Senior Portraits

I had a great time with Ashley. She included her boyfriend in a few of the pictures so her parents and his parents were there also.
We walked all around Old Town and the park. She has to be one of the easiest seniors I've photographed!

Ashley & Kevan's Wedding Day

I had a blast doing Ashley and Kevan's wedding last week. Kevan is hysterial and I love the way he makes Ashley smile! Ashley's very talented mom made her shoes, her gown hanger, bracelets for all of the girls, Ashleys purse, and more. They were beautiful and I was in awe. We loaded the trolley to go to Old Town and the little park there to take some group photos and fun photos. Then Ashley said she wanted to go walk in the fountains at Warren Square - before the wedding! I thought..."now this is a laid back bride"!!! We had a great time before returning to Petroleum Club for the ceremony & reception. Ashley's darling nephews Maverick and Gage drove a Cadillac Escalade down the aisle with the rings, and the couple exchanged wine instead of a more common unity candle. The evening was full of fun and enjoyed by everyone. The highlights included Kevan dancing with is 98 yr old grandma, and of course, also with his beautiful bride!

Sarah and Jerry's Wedding Day

It was perfect weather for Sarah and Jerry's wedding day. I was surprised to see the new wedding coordinator at St. Thomas is a former bride I photographed 10 years ago! After the ceremony, we stopped at Bradley Fair for a few more photos before going to the reception at Resurrection Catholic Church. Sarah was beautiful, the cake was very unique, and the sweet treats included chocolate covered strawberries!

Monday, September 14, 2009

Kirsten Chamberlin Senior Portraits

Kirsten and her mom came to the studio yesterday afternoon. She had several great outfits and a gorgeous prom gown! I couldn't resist photographing her in her gown with her basketball! We took a few minutes to go out to the sunflower fields before sunset, then back to the studio to finish Session 1. Can't wait for Session 2 in Old Town later this week!

Taylor Huelsman's Studio Session

Taylor came to the studio for her 2nd senior session. She brought mom Ginette and Bella her tiny, precious dog. We had alot of fun with Bella, and I even took a few of Taylor & Bella with mom too!

Jennifer Butts and Jim Vincent Portrait Session

Since it was raining back in April on Jennifer and Jim's wedding day, we decided we would get together at Botanica sometime this summer to take some outdoor pictures. Well, we met there a couple of weeks ago and Botanica was beautiful. I got some great shots of this very sweet couple and really enjoyed the extra time I got to spend with them.

Alex Kitterman's Senior Portraits

Alex and her mom first came to my studio a couple of weeks ago. Alex had lots of ideas for outfits, locations, poses. After much discussion, we decided what locations were a must! Sunflowers, Grass & trees, Bradley Fair, and include Buddy, her dog. Wednesday we met to have the photo session. A little wind could have been the culprit of a re-schedule, but instead turned out to be an asset with Alex's long flowing hair. Buddy was more interested in sniffing out the new territory than having his picture taken, but he was a good sport. Alex is a beautiful girl & has beautiful clothes. I think I've met her vision of what her senior portraits would be. Can't wait for her to see them all.photography, seniors,

Courtney Seddon's Senior Portraits

Last night I photographed Jessica Krok, and today I photographed her best friend, Courtney Seddon! Courtney is full of energy and has a great outlook on life! We scouted around for new areas in Old Town. She had great outfits and accessories. We tangled a bit with one of her necklaces (was quite tangled), then she cheerfully gave in to wearing a different one. Courtney is a big fan of the Wingnuts, the Royals and the Angels. We weren't able to get into the Wingnuts stadium, so we went to my studio to shoot a few in her Angels jersey. Thanks for the fun time, Courtney!

Jessica Krok's Senior Portraits

Jessica came to my studio Sunday evening to start her senior session. After shooting there, we went to Bradley Fair. It was a beautiful evening and luckily, not very busy! Jessica is on the dance team at Derby High School but elected not to do any photos in her uniform. She had alot of great outfits though, and we had a great time together!

Chase Pritchett's Senior Portraits

I met Chase down on Mead street for the first part of our photo shoot. Chase
could think of a thousand things he'd rather be doing, but he was being a good sport. We cruised around a couple of streets, then went to Wino park. You know, the one at St. Francis and Douglas. Then we took off for Derby to take photos on their gorgeous property with several acres. I even met their pet chickens, but we settled on just photographing Chase with his two dogs. Dakota was quite the frisky lab. With those beautiful brown eyes, I just really wanted to get a nice shot. Then was Chance's turn with Chase. He is a more mellow dog and posed nicely as though he was experienced. It was an enjoyable time for me. I think by the end, Chase thought so too.

Ashley Yoder's Senior Portraits

Ashley is from Augusta High and I really enjoyed getting to know her and her mom. She had great clothes and is a beautiful girl. She's one of those that can pose great either serious or smiling so I just didn't want to stop shooting! Her two dogs, Jake and Buster, were with us the entire shoot and were very well behaved. Here's a few, with more to come!

Peter Paksin 6 months

I photographed Arraya and Jay's wedding a couple of years ago and now I've been enjoying getting to know their new little guy, Peter. I first photographed him as a newborn, and last week I got to photograph him again at 6 months. He was great throughout the session! Nothing but smiles even though we put him through several outfit changes and props.

Paige Johnson's Senior Portraits

Paige and I met on Saturday afternoon in Old Town with her parents and good friend Jamie. They had driven all the way from Burlington, Iowa to have me photograph her after seeing the senior portraits I did last year for a friend of her's that went to Derby. Wow, now that's flattering! It was alot of fun shooting down in Old Town, but I don't think Paige was much for the audience we had from Hero's patio. We then went to the studio to photograph Paige with her bazillion trophies, medals and ribbons for dance. She must be some dancer because she sure has the accolades to show for it! Sunday morning they headed back to Iowa and there were a few photos already on facebook for her to see when she arrived. The rest is coming soon!

Taylor Huelsman's Senior Portraits

Taylor was lots of fun to photograph, not to mention - beautiful. We started down in Old Town with her mom, then went to Bradley Fair. Her sweet pooch and dad joined us there for a few more shots. We are doing her studio shoot soon, but there's lots of great images already!
