Justin Frazier's Senior Portrait Session

This afternoon Justin Frazier and I met up with each other in Old Town for a casual senior photo session. After spending some time down the side streets along Mead, we hopped in the car and drove to the skateboard park to show his moves! He jumped and flipped at lightening speed, but I managed to get a few great action shots!

Megan Whiley's Senior Portraits

Megan was alot of fun to work with at her recent senior portrait session. Her outfits were great and her smile is infectious! Such a sweetheart! It didn't take me long to add some of her shots to my new website!

Back from a little R&R in Florida!

Spent last week in south Florida for a little relaxation before the busy season starts back up at lightning pace this next week. What beautiful weather and oh, those sunsets! Arrived back Friday night at 10:30p.m. to a blizzard here with just sandals and a t-shirt on! Questioned for a moment why I'm here. Then I quickly remembered, its because I love it here. i love my clients, and I love what I do!This IS home!

New website about to launch!

My new website is almost complete and will be launched soon. I'm really excited about the new design and features. The site is real user-friendly! Let me know what you think!

Peter Jarren Hall's first portrait session

Yesterday I got to spend some time with the sweetest little baby! My former wedding clients Arraya Paksin-Hall and Jay Hall welcomed little Peter Jarren Hall into the world 6 weeks ago so it was time for his first portrait session. He was such a good baby! We worked for nearly 2 hours and he didn't even demand to stop and eat! I was amazed at how strong his head and neck were. He just held his head right up and looked at the lens on cue! The whole collection won't be edited for a couple of weeks but I just had to get a few posted right away for the family to see! Arraya's family is in Wichita and probably gets to see little Peter often. Jay's family came down from Canada soon after his birth for a few days, so I'm thinking they will be anxious to see how he's already changed!

Sydney Thornburg's Senior Portraits

Well, spring break is here and I'm photographing lots of high school seniors this week! Sydney Thornburg met me last Monday downtown with her mom, Pam Summerville. She had a great variety of outfits to work with and lots of great shoes! There was a little Kansas breeze, but nothing a little bit of hair spray couldn't fix! Sydney is one of those ideal clients that can have alot of different looks and expressions which made for a wide variety of poses she will have to choose from! And, since she's such a petite little thing, I didn't even need my step-stool! The grass is already greening up at the park which was a plus for those shots we took laying in the grass. I can't wait to finish the editing to post her entire collection on my website!

Kristin and Phillip's Engagement Session

Kristin and Phillip were a blast to work with. They are so in love and it shows! They made my job extra easy. We met down in Old Town to take some portraits in the alley on Mead. No prompting needed here! They were a photographer's dream. Lots of snuggling and kissing! Phillip had proposed in New York to Kristin, so they wanted to take some shots in the clothes they were wearing which included her gorgeous ivory long coat. Phillip swept her off her feet both in New York, and here when he picked her up and twirled her around right on Douglas Avenue. Kristin's mom, Pam, came later with their sweet Daschand dog Sneebie. He's a beautiful little dog with one blue eye and one brown eye. He wore his best collar for the portraits and tried to be on best behavior, but all of those scents around the Naftzger Park were just too enticing! We managed to get a few keeper shots with Sneebie, but Phillip decided to send him back home with Pam. After a few more hugs and kissing shots between Kristin & Phillip, we decided we definately had enough shots for a fantastic portfolio.

Rachel and Cole's Engagement Session

Today was a great day to get together with Rachel Jantz and her fiance' Cole McKinney for their engagement session. With their wedding right around the corner on April 4, 2009, we were so glad the weather cooperated (except for Rachel having to fight the wind with her pretty blond hair just a bit!) Rachel and Cole were certain they wanted outdoor natural portraits so we just had fun walking the streets and alleys at Old Town. Watch for their engagement announcement soon in the Newton Kansan.
